With most traditional photo frames glass is installed in front of the photo. The main reason for this is to protect the photo from possible damage. The downside is that unless the glass is expensive non-reflective glass, then reflections can make the photo difficult to view. In the past, it may have been understandable to want to protect your photos due to the cost of printing, and the inability to easily make duplicates. However nowadays with digital imaging and printing, photos are cheap as chips and can be printed for as little as 8 cents each! Therefore why cover them up if you get a better view without glass over the top of your photos?
